Product description

This product has been made from myrtle with scientific name Myrtus communis L. belonging to Myrtaceae family and also propolis extract and has been standardized according to 15-45mg of 1,8- cineole.

  • No side effects at therapeutic has been observed.
  • Some blood vessel inflammation, irritation and skin rashes have been reported while using propolis.
  • Rubbing products containing myrtle oil on babies and children’s face may cause spasm of the larynx, bronchospasm, asthma-like attacks or respiratory disorder in them.
  • There is the possibility of allergic reactions such as swelling, redness, skin irritation, skin irritation (dermatitis), burns, irritation
  • and burning sensation, itching, psoriasis or eczema, and fever while taking propolis.
  • Allergenic reactions have been reported with use of propolis, so it should be used with caution in susceptible individuals.
  • Contraindications & Precautions
  • Do not use for people sensitive to bee products (such as honey), bee stings etc.
  • It is safety consumption during pregnancy and lactation has not been established, so in order to take this drug during this period, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Because of the possibility of spasms of the larynx, bronchospasm, asthma-like attacks or respiratory disorder, avoid rubbing the products containing myrtle oil on babies and children’s face.

Mechanism of action

  • Myrtle oil has shown antibacterial and antiseptic properties. Also antiviral effect of myrtle oil has been studied on herpes simplex virus type 1 and 2 and the results confirm the effectiveness of the oil on this category of viruses. Also, myrtle oil and propolis extract have shown anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.

Interferences

  • Avoid concurrent usage with herbs and dietary supplements, anticoagulation (coumarin and lycorine), antibiotics, anti-bacterial, anti-cancer medicines (anti-neoplastics), anti-fungal, anti-inflammation, infertility, anti-HIV, immune stimulant, immune suppression and osteoporosis.
