Contrafisher ointment is made from chamomile extract containing glycoside-7-O-apigenin, apigenin and alpha-bisabolol.

This ointment is used to treat inflammations of mucous membranes and anal fissures.

Use cases

  • Treatment of inflammations of mucous membranes and anal fissures

Instructions for use

  • Take a small amount the size of your thumb and apply a thin layer of ointment on the crack.
  • 2 times a day (morning and evening) or as prescribed by the doctor.
  • To achieve results, it should be consumed continuously for at least 40 days.

side effects

  • Very rare cases of allergy have been attributed to this type of chamomile, however contact dermatitis is possible.
  • Do not use in people with known allergy to plants of the sunflower family.

Mechanism of action

  • Due to the presence of chamomile extract, Contrafisher ointment relieves inflammation by inhibiting 5- and 12-lipooxygenase, cyclooxygenase and arachidonic acid oxidation, and by increasing skin granulation, it helps to improve itching, burning and pain.
  • It also softens the skin and improves dryness and cracks in the skin of the anus.
