This product is prepared from freshly harvested leaves of Camellia sinensis L.
Polyphenols of green tea (especially catechins) have shown anti-cancer and anti-mutagenic effects. These compounds have antioxidant effect and inhibit carcinogenic effect of substances such as nitrosamines and heterocyclic amines. Green tea tablet prevents the absorption of intestine fat lipids by the inhibition of lipase secreted from the pancreas, lowers cholesterol and triglycerides, and prevents atherosclerosis and heart diseases. Green tea tablets reduce blood sugar by reducing amylase of salivary and intestine, and by decreasing intestinal absorption of glucose and fat results in weight loss. Green tea tablet also is effective on prevention and treatment of infectious diarrhea and help to growth of beneficial intestinal microflora. Additionally, because of 0.15 percent of fluoride present in green tea, this tablet inhibits the formation of dental plaque and tooth decay.
GI side effects such as hyperacidity, gastric irritation and reduction of appetite have reported. These side effects can be generally avoided by addition of milk (reduction of tannins).
Over-dosage of green tea tablet (due to caffeine content) can stimulates the nervous system and thus can lead to restlessness, anxiety, palpitations, headache, increase blood pressure, irritability, insomnia, sleeplessness, increased daily urine that in recommended therapeutic dose, it can be prevented from these side effects.

Don’t use in pregnancy (due to caffeine content).
Stop use of green tea tablet one week before any surgery.
In patients with weakened cardiovascular systems, renal disease, hyperthyroidism and susceptibility to spasm and in breastfeeding should be used with caution.
Concurrent use of green tea and anticoagulants such as warfarin, clopidogrel and aspirin, may result in increased anticoagulants effectiveness and increase the blooding risk. So, avoid concurrent use.
